The 2,845 terms have been organized in groups of 50 entries each one, identified by the first and last word of the group; the "content" of the dictionary has 57 group "identifiers" that allow the reader to access directly to any group. At the end of the group there are two links to return to the spanish-english or to the english-spanish content. It makes this e-book "fully browseable".

A Devil of an Idea ;-)

A great idea from Zoran Zivkovic to get the students of a writer's masterclass held by the editor at the 2004 Brisbane Writers Festival to write a short story in one hour about a meeting between a writer and the devil, set in Brisbane.
He then published all those stories and some others and released them in this Anthology.
I found it can get a bit much if you try reading too many stories in one sitting, as they are all naturally variations on the same theme.
Some are good, some could have been good (with a little help) and some are best forgotten.
Writer's should love reading through this book and trying to ignore that little critical and bitchy voice whispering through their heads telling how much better of a story they could have written.

Don't be fooled - this is a simplistic children's book that bares no resemblance to the original classic. It's only 99 cents, so no great loss, but don't expect to buy this as a cheap digital version of the book that you're really looking for.

A good story, but could use more depth

The Last Unicorn was a good story. It flowed well and had a interesting plot, not full of action, but interesting. I think it could have used more description, told us more about the characters, and given them more personality. However, it was cheap, short, to the point, and was a good story, so I give it four out of five stars.

He had been appointed the Cazique of Poyais, and bestowed with many honours by the local king of this unspoiled paradise. Now he was offering others the chance to join him and make their fortune there, too - once they had paid him a bargain fee for their passage...The Phantom Atlas is a beautifully produced volume, packed with stunning maps and drawings of places and people that never existed. Dr Alserhan is the founder of the discipline of Islamic Marketing. He is the founding editor of the International Journal of Islamic Marketing and Branding (Inderscience), the founder and first editor of the Journal of Islamic Marketing (Emerald), the founder and editor of two Arabic journals on the subject. He is founder and Chair of the Global Islamic Marketing Conference, now in its seventh cycle, and he is the CEO of the International Islamic Marketing Association. He is also an associate Professor of Marketing at Qatar University. A GROUNDBREAKING STUDY FOR ITS TIME, AND STILL OF CURRENT INTEREST

Harold Wright Cruse (1916-2005) was an American academic who was an outspoken social critic and teacher of African-American studies at the University of Michigan until the mid-1980s.

He writes in the first chapter of this 1967 book, "I have attempted to define what a considerable body of Negroes have thought and expressed on a less analytic and articulate level... There is, however, a broad strain of Negro social opinion in America that is strikingly cogent and cuts through class lines." He later summarizes, "The purpose of this study so far has been to explore the origins of the many factors leading to the impasse the Negro movement has reached as of this moment." (Pg. 402)

"Harlem is the black world's key community for historical, political, economic, cultural and/or ethnic reasons. The trouble is that Harlem has never been adequately analyzed in such terms." (Pg. 12)

The book that changed my intellectual life period

In this sparwling 500 page book, Cruse lays out his polemics against the Civil Rights movement for ignoring the economic issues that plagued us then and now,acusses black artists for betraying their own cultural gifts to gain wider credibility and lays down the basic ethos of American captialist life.. Every racial group for themselves. And on top of that goes first after black ministers who were more concerned about their own power than uplifting American- Americans and Norman Podhoretz practically calling him a fascist (he is) and the scared cow of all... Saying the so-called Black- Jewish alliance was a sham seeing all this by 1967. Unlike Black intellectuals of today, Cruse spares no one institution in American life in one of the great books in American Thought.

This one book I read 10 years ago along with the "Autobiography of Malcolm X" changed my life and committed me to a life of reading and seeking truth wherever it led me.Cruse who died last year, was America's last great intellectual unlike those today who appear on C-SPAN, Fox and other news outlets being "pop intellectuals" Cruse was searching for truth and solutions in the lives of African- Americans and for that we should be grateful.

Finally, a book with sound practical advice!

This book should be given to every young graduate upon receiving his or her diploma. It is a compass, a guide, a mentor; filling in the gaps between education & preparation. How disheartening it can be to go out to the real world and realize it is not the ‘world of possibilities’ everyone promised it would be. Wow! Bobby Ikazoboh says it like it is! While he doesn’t beat around the bush, the author does share practical advice to help graduates recognize and promote their Valueworth. Ikazoboh, offers a behind the scenes look at what CEOs expect and look for in their candidates.
The book breaks down the process of creating goals so you may reach a Valueworthy life. Ikazoboh, contends we are responsible for our own happiness and as such, we should be mindful of the blueprint, foundation, & construction of our professions.
I found the ideology of breaking family limits particularly interesting. Again, the author offers a no excuses approach to upward mobility in every aspect of your profession. He speaks of refining transferable skills to become a key player in an organization. Put simply, we cannot rely on our Universities to do the heavy lifting. Although the author certainly respects Universities he instructs young graduates to be realistic and not overly optimistic of what is ahead of them.

" Sad, but likely very true

While I have a college degree and thankful for the time, experience and education that I received, University vs. Reality was spot on in some many ways, and it chilled me when I read, "institutions you may want to pin your hopes on really do not care that much about you." Sad, but likely very true. Universities and colleges don't want to harm their students, yet, Bobby points out that the education and the way things are taught, and in some respect, not being taught, are really hurting the college graduates and their future lives and earning potential. Recent and even past college graduates should read this book.

Honesty

My first reaction when I started reading this book was, "It's about time."
Where I believe in higher education I also know that for many students it leaves them with little real learning and great debt. Bobby Ikazoboh takes an honest and helpful look at the importance of higher learning and the development of a successful career. A book students should read in high school, or have their parents read...or both.
