An Amazing Woman!!

Lets hear it for the O'Malleys!! Those of the Irish clan claiming descendancy from Granuaile (Grace) O'Malley, the notorious and brilliant Gaelic Chieftan and "Pirate Queen" are lucky indeed. "Granuaile" is a fascinating story of an audacious woman ruler at a time in history (1530-1600) when it was unheard of for women to have such ambition, influence and power. A great read for those passionate about Irish history and those amazing Irish women!!!

I expected to learn about Grace O'Malley but more important I learned about the times and tensions as the celtic warrior system became overwhelmed by the English conquest of Ireland.
