About the Author

Philip Leach is a solicitor specialising in human rights and public law. He is Legal Director of the Kurdish Human Rights Project, was formerly Legal Director of Liberty and has considerable experience of representing applicants before the European Commission and Court of Human Rights. He speaks on human rights for the Council of Europe and is a consultant to the University of Nottingham Human Rights Law Centre. He edits the Case and Comment section of the European Human Rights Law Review and writes a regular column on human rights for Legal Action.

About the Author
Peter Bilous was born and raised in Rochester, NY, where he currently resides. Although largely self taught, he did study photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology and has also attended several portraiture and nude photography workshops. He is also an instructor and has taught black and white darkroom workshops as well as a location portraiture class. Peter has traveled to many different parts of the United States and to the Caribbean to pursue his photography.

Peter’s work is a permanent part of the Elizabeth Collection at Artisan Works in Rochester. Past exhibits include: Image City Gallery, The Center at High Falls, Kodak Park’s main lobby and the VARGA Gallery in Woodstock NY. His images have appeared in various publications including: The New Nude magazine and the Woodstock Photography Workshops catalog. His first book, The Beginner's Guide to Photographing Nudes was published in 2009 by Amherst Media and is still available through book sellers worldwide.

Peter currently shoots commercial and artistic nudes in his studio in Rochester and at various locations around upstate New York. He is available for nude photography projects and is always interested in collaborating with creative people.

Very Helpful Tutorial Lessons and Examples.....

I am enjoying this book. The author writes in the first person and his description of his experience and his coaching is very comfortable to read, enjoy, and learn by example. Much of his instruction relates to his attention to the importance of the lighting with many practical and varied examples. I especially enjoyed the last chapter’s “Experimental Techniques” that again mostly relate to lighting and novel ways to produce creative poses. He also emphasizes the importance of building a comfortable rapport with the model by describing very helpful examples of his experience working with them to get relaxed poses. The book has many fine examples of the author’s portfolio of nude photographs that certainly show his appreciation of the art as well as being examples for learning both classic and novel poses. The methods and techniques described in this second book on the subject by the author give me a much better insight to making artistic nude photography that can also be applied to photographing people in general.

Really enjoyed reading this book

Really enjoyed reading this book, it is easy to follow and understand whether you are a beginner, a professional or just interested in photography all together. Mr. Bilous did an amazing job with explaining different techniques that can be applied to most photography styles. I admire how tasteful and classy the pictures are depicted with explanations of use in location, equipment, lighting, positioning of models and props. I definitely recommend reading his first book “The Beginner’s Guide to photographing The Nudes” you can get an even better understanding of nude photography and will help guide you on what will work for your particular style.

Although artistic nude photography is not something that I am particularly passionate about I really enjoyed reading through this book. It is well structured and the progression from basics about the genera and equipment through to experimental techniques made it simple to read and easy to reference. I think the variety of models, poses and amount of unique pictures would be interesting to most artists and could be a source of inspiration.

Loved It!

I found this to be one of the best installments in the series so far, equal to volumes one and two which are probably my favorites. Trinity now finds herself in even more dire circumstances than before and we're introduced to some interesting new characters. I've also found reading these six volumes has helped enormously with my French. I don't know if the author is really planning on ten volumes but I'll definitely be buying number seven, hope it's not too long a wait!

Wonderful series

I was surprised at the end of the first book that there was not a conclusion. I had to know what happened to Trinity and Speedy... I read all six books as fast as I could. I now have no expectation of a conclusion but love the characters so much that it doesn't matter.

About the Author

Mark Nesti is Reader in Sport Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University where he is also head of the MSc programme in Sport Psychology. His current research interests are focused on identity, meaning and critical moments in sport. Mark was formerly the counselling sport psychologist to the first team at Bolton Wanderers (2003-7) and at Newcastle United FC (2007-8) and Hull City AFC (2008-10) in the Premier League.

Chris Sulley is Head of Coaching (5-13) at the Everton FC Academy where his focus is on developing the coaching skills and competencies congruent with the club's playing and coaching philosophy. Chris is a former professional footballer, starting his career in a very successful youth development programme at Chelsea (1972-81) before moving on to Bournemouth (1981-6), Dundee United (1986-7), Blackburn Rovers (1987-92), Port Vale (1992-3) and Preston North End (1993-5).

Arthur G. Cook is a Principal with ZS, a management consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical industry. Previously he was Director of Global Forecasting for Syntex Pharmaceuticals. Art has been involved in pharmaceutical forecasting for over 30 years, has worked with many major pharmaceutical companies on their forecasting processes, and has created forecasts for over 150 therapy areas. He has written and presented widely on the subject of forecasting, portfolio management, market research, and pricing for the pharmaceutical industry.

Nicely covers the broad areas of forecasting, and thats just what it does. It does not get in to the details. So if you are someone who wants to brush your knowledge then this is for you, but if you are looking to learn new methods then maybe you may want to look at some other options.

Excellent introduction and review of pharma forecasting

This is a slim book with lots of good information for anybody wanting to get started forecasting their pharmaceutical and biotechnology products, as well as emerging companies with little portfolio management infrastructure looking to strengthen their forecasting process. There is much to be learned and few wasted words. Unlike many books that are used in a classroom setting and are intended primarily as a reference text this book presents forecasting in a practical and concise manner that makes you want to get started. This is a book that can be read cover to cover in three or four hours, so you get the whole picture in one or two bites.

Highly recommended as an introductory or refresher text for anybody involved in pharmaceutical or biotechnology product forecasting, and those involved in product development who wants to get a better handle on what their product is capable of achieving in the commercial setting.

The book is not inexpensive, but it offers a good payback in terms of price and time invested. If you order from Amazon you have the comfort of knowing that if the book doesn't meet your expectations you can easily return it for a refund less a small shipping charge. Unlike many other generic forecasting books this one addresses the unique characteristics of the pharmaceutical market and stays away from a heavy statistics treatment. Biopharma new product forecasting benefits more from a strong analytical approach than any mathematical treatment.

Charles Dowding has been growing organic vegetables commercially for 30 years, without soil cultivation. He is the author of How to Grow Winter Vegetables and Salad Leaves. He also writes articles for several gardening publications, lectures, and runs courses on how best to look after soil and plants.

Soil care the easy way

The latest scientific research into the soil food web tells us that we should respect and take care of the microbes in the soil, which are the source of the soil's fertility. This means minimal soil disturbance and application of compost to the surface. Charles Dowding has been doing no-dig gardening for 30 years. He is my hero!

I found little that was useful to me as a gardener in the mid-Atlantic region

After the first few chapters, I found little that was useful to me as a gardener in the mid-Atlantic region. His recommendations, particularly for timing of planting and winter gardening may be relevant for the mild UK, but definitely not for my part of the United States. I did appreciate his take on no-dig gardening, but I'm not sure that chapter is worth the price of the book. The book does have some lovely full-color photographs of beautiful vegetables, most of which were varieties I've never heard of. Again, probably varieties that you can find in the UK. Were he to revise the book for gardeners in a continental climate, I'd say have another look.

Wonderful Information

Charles Dowding is one of those rare people who lives what he writes about. And he writes about growing food in a clean, wholesome way. Small or large, you can't beat a home garden if you want to eat fresh and healthy. The book arrived in perfect condition. I can't wait to learn from a master gardener.
