James S. Diana, Ph.D. is Professor and Associate Dean of the School of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Michigan and an Associate Research Scientist at the Center for Great Lakes and Aquatic Sciences. His research interests include fish energetics, including behavioral ecology and production of natural fish populations.

This is a good book that is well laid out, BUT there are more editing mistakes, inconsistencies and misprints throughout that make it difficult to teach and learn from. Perhaps another edition would be worth my time and money. Good luck with that.

Good book for people new to the field!

Very easy to read - I didn't know anything about ichthyology until I read this book. It lays everything out and provides sources for all of its findings.
