A Bible with Subsistence

This "Men's" Manual is a wonderful item to add to your religious readings. Designed mostly for men, but certainly everyone will gain knowledge from it. It offers 30/60/90 day journeys through the Bible. There is a subject index that lists verses by subject; such as Thankfulness, Swearing, Temptation, etc. This Manual/Bible also includes items such as Myths, Men of the Bible, Downshift, Knowing God and "At Issue."
I enjoy history and each book of the bible in this manual contains a section that gives you the period in time; such as Genesis (1450BC), the author of the writing, the audience, setting, key verses and central theme.
This "Men's" Manual is a well designed NIV version, easy to read and comprehend. I've learned a great deal from it and highly recommend it! Available in both paperback and leather bound, but I prefer the leatherbound. It costs a bit more but well worth, you will have years of use out of it.
I've purchased this same bible for friends/church members and they are very happy with it as well. Enjoy!

Finally...something compreshensible for men!

My husband LOVES this Bible. Being a 'baby' Christian means there are a lot of myths (misconceptions). This Bible addresses many of the more popular myths to help men overcome the lies of and about our Faith...and about a man's role in our Faith. I highly recommend this for all men new to our Faith or are struggling with letting go of the misconceptions of our Faith. This version of the Bible will at least help men to see the myths they are living by and with wisdom how to let them go while recognizing other myths not already addressed in this version.

A focused study for Men, but not as good as other general study Bibles

Ever since I saw this Bible in the bookstore, I wanted to have it. The quality of the leather is superb and that was one of the most attractive qualities for me. But inside, the Bible contains a variety of stories by other men who have gone through some common afflictions plaguing the male gender. However, the stories are short and there's not much meat to them. A small explanation and that's about it. There are a few other features like "Downshift", but these are, once again, scattered and very small. They give nuggets of wisdom - perhaps that's what the editors of this Bible felt men as a whole could handle - and they're very good, but they occur infrequently.
Still, for a smaller, more portable, durable NIV Bible gift for a man, you could do a LOT worse. It's a beautiful Bible and I'm glad it's part of my growing collection. I don't "love" it, but I certainly do like it quite a bit.
